Gary Clifford

Chairman & CEO

Gary is a managing director with Penfold Capital Corporation; he is well regarded as a Telecommunications executive, restructuring specialist and deal maker. Gary has worked with a number of telecommunications operators including Primus, Startec, and Yak. As lead independent director, Gary oversaw the sale of Yak to Globalive in 2006. Gary is also a Chartered Accountant and holds a Certificate of Director Education with the National Association of Corporate Directors
 


Torge Dennen

Torge Dennen joined the Phonetime in November 2007 when Symphony was acquired by Phonetime. Mr. Dennen works from the Cape Town South Africa office where the Symphony Network operations center was established in 2002.

As a co-founder of Symphony in 2002, Mr Dennen was primarily responsible for in country business development, sales and operations. Having spent a lot of time with direct in country partners and working with them on a daily basis, Symphony attained a unique understanding of in country vendors and Partners. This ultimately resulted in an operations and support team that is highly specialized, and has a completely different business process when compared to similar wholesale operators. As a result Symphony was able to build and maintain strongholds on markets where competitors were not able to get any traction.

Prior to founding Symphony Mr Dennen worked for 4 years as contractor for Denwa Communications. During this time his primary role was in country business development and engineering, building International Private lines in Africa and the Middle East.


Trevor Dearman

Trevor Dearman joined the Phonetime management team in November of 2007. Mr. Dearman brings strategic vision and over 15 years of experience that is specific to Phonetime’s International Wholesale division. During those years, Mr. Dearman has traveled extensively to many underdevelop countries throughout the world. To this end, he has been responsible for the planning, procurement and deployment of telecommunications infrastructure in many of those countries.

Prior to Joining the management team of Phonetime Networks, in October 2002 Mr. Dearman co-founded Symphony Telecommuniations. Mr. Dearman was responsible strategic planning, financial controls, and systems development for the company’s growth to $50 million in profitable annual sales. Symphony was sold to Phonetime Networks (PHD.TO) in November of 2007.

In 1996 Mr. Dearman co-founded Denwa Communications. As Chief Operating Officer for Denwa, Mr. Dearman was instrumental in Denwa’s pioneering role as one of the first next-generation carriers. In his early carrier, Mr. Dearman held several other several key positions with International Telecommunications carriers including MCI.


Stanley Cohen

Stan Cohen has over 25 years of telecom experience in the ethnic residential market. He was a co-founder and president of Vancouver Telephone Company, one of the largest Canadian long distance resellers specializing in marketing to the ethnic community and grew the company to over $30Million per year in revenue. Before staring Call Select with Phonetime, he was a consultant to various telecommunications companies though out Canada. He has a BS and MSE from Columbia University and over 2 years of PHD studies in Physics at the University of Pennsylvania


Fred Panet

Fred has 35 years of experience in the retail, card collectibles and telecommunications sectors. Fred joined Phonetime in 1998, when Phonetime bought Fred's prepaid phone card company, Call Select, a leader in the premium and incentive phone card sector. Prior to starting Call Select, he owned a chain of sports collectible card stores, operating in Canadian malls, and was the co-owner of Panet Lighting.
